examples of movement in photography
YowaYowa
Place this section above your own photos and write a few sentences about her work. Define what levitation photography is and how she creates this illusion. Then, describe what you like about her work and how you will use her work to inspire yours.
These images were all taken by the photographer YowaYowa. These images are from her levitation project. She created these images by having her model jump and by having her camera on a quick shutter speed, she was able to capture an image that looks like the model is levitating.
I like her work because it shows the other side of photography, and how camera settings can completely change how a photograph looks.

Example 2 of levitation photography
In these images, i was trying to create the look of my main subject floating in mid air, even though they are only jumping. This links to the theme of movement because it shows the different kind of images you can get just by using a different shutter speed. For these images I used a shutter speed of 1/250 and I did a burst of images so I could capture the perfect image. The lighting conditions were quite bright so I had my iso at 100 to balance out the lighting. A tip I have for anyone else trying to do this project is to take a contiunious set of images so you can capture the perfect one. For this project I think:
WWW= I managed to capture a few good images, my favourite one is the 4th picture on 'levitation photography example 1'. - Be specific - which ones were you best?
EBI= I used other people so I had a range of models.

what is Zoom Blur?
Zoom blur is a photography technique where the photographer makes it look like the subject of the photo Is moving when they aren't. you do this by having a low shutter speed to allow a lot of light into the camera and while you are taking the image, you either zoom in or zoom out while you take the image.

Place this section after you've described what zoom photography is and above your own images.
My attempt at 'zoom blur' photography
For this project, I used an Iso of 100 an aperture of f22 and a shutter speed of 1/4 of a second
WWW: I managed to achieve the task and take pictures that use the technique
EBI: I got more images of my model, I would like to get some of her outside or just in a different setting. I would also like to take some images of other objects and people to add some variety. - What specifically would you try to take photos of and what effects are you seeking that you didn't achieve in yours, here?

Francesca Woodman Analysis
'Providence, Rhode Island' by Francesca Woodman is a black and white photograph which features Francesca moving forwards in a dark room. This room is relatively bare, with only a window to the right of the photography and of course Francesca moving in the middle. The image looks as if it was taken in an abandoned or old house. I believe that Francesca intended to create ghostly images. She did this by photographing blurred movement, and she wanted to consider the absence of presence. In this piece of work, Woodman is is considering disturbing psychological states by photographing the figure moving in a chaotic way. I think she also wanted to explore her own mental state and th emotions that can not always be seen by looking at someone. Francesca Woodman has used long exposure time in creating this image. This creates a ghostly atmosphere, this helps to support the artists point that no one can define her body. This image is similar to my images because they both involve the focus point of the photograph, in our cases a person, moving and the rest of the photograph is clear and crisp, the person is also hard to make out and just looks like a blur.

Francesca Woodman-Movment of a figure
In this task I was trying to achieve a ghostly like image by my main subject moving in the image. This links to the movement topic because it highlights the importance of shutter speed, aperture and iso. For this project i used a slow shutter speed to allow light into my camera, and to achieve the best image I could I made sure to keep the background Clear crisp and in focus.
WWW= I managed to get some images that go with the criteria of Francesca Woodmans images
EBI= I got a few more images of other people and some other things like animals. - of what?
You have some very beautiful blurred images, here! Well-done! Were you able to convert your best image to black and white? If not, please do this, document your process in Photoshop using print screens and then, evaluate the outcome.
Proof-read your work - a few word/spelling/punctuation errors
Put these images below the section on Francesca Woodman.

Above, I have showed the processes of turning one of my 'movement of a figure' photo from colour into black and white.
Romain Laurent
Romain Laurent is a photographer from France who is based in America. He is widely known for is tilt series and GIF portraites. He was born and raised in the French Alps, where he showed a great love for extreme skiing, and studied product design at the Ensaama National School of Applied Arts and photography at Gobelins in Paris. His 'GIF' series is done by him taking a lot of consecutive images of movement and then placing them all together and it turning into a sort of video but out of pictures and only focused on one main subject ,It is almost like a human flick book. I like his work because he uses a unique and individual technique to get his images. His images also give a bit more life to just an average photograph. I will use his work to inspire mine by aiming to get my photographs more life like and 'alive'. Below I have shown some examples of his GIF work.

My GIFS
My first attempt at a GIF My best GIF
in this task I was trying to achieve the same type of image as Romain Laurent. My first GIF was very out of focus the angles were not the same and I do not have enough consecutive photos
Michael Bossanko
Michael Bossanko creates a feeling of life in his light movement pictures. He does this by having one main thing in his photograph, to add attention and drama to the image. He wanted us to consider that not all photographs have to be or look the same, and I also believe he wanted to show a deeper meaning to his pictures. Michael Bossanko is considering bringing an aspect of nature into a mad made thing in this piece of work. This is shown by his choice of making a tree. Michael Bossanko wanted to make a comment on the importance of knowing what to focus on. The tree is supposed to be the main image in the picture but the city in the back ground is almost taking some of the focus off the tree. Michael Bossanko has used lights and a long exposure time on his camera in creating this work.
This creates movement and life like natural effects. This helps to support Michael Bossanko’s point about the importance of nature on mankind

WWW: In most of my best images there is little to no background distraction or objects.
EBI: In all of my images there was nothing in the picture aside from the main subject in my picture. I also think that the main subject of my pictures should be brighter bolder and more obvious.
I have ordered my pictures from best at the top to worst at the bottom

My final GIFS
The main aims for this project were to create a long line of consecutive photos and put them all together into one big GIF, which looks almost like a video. These GIFS link back to the movement idea because they show another side to photography and add a tasteful change to it. This project also tested my knowledge of cameras, especially the 'light trail GIF'. This task involved putting the camera on a specific setting In which I personally had not used before. I also learned how to use Photoshop to create a GIF. I've really enjoyed this whole project and I have learned a lot from it.
Movement Developments
For my task I have decided to do the 'zoom blur' project . The artist that inspired me the best is Dominic Harris because his photographs give a ghostly feeling and add a essence of confusion to the viewer. The concept behind my shoot was to bring a new level to my photography work and to do this I have photographed cars as they are not my usual focus point of my pictures. To achieve these images started my camera off either very zoomed in or very zoomed out. I then made sure my focus point, in this project the car, was clear and in focus. Then I either zoomed in or out, depending on what I started on. I have half reached the expectations and hopes of my project, however I would of liked it to look more like the cars were moving. To do this I would try to find one singular car that wasn't in a car park. By doing this I wouldn't have the background cars in which would give my photographs a more 'realistic' feeling.
WWW= I have been able to capture some images and have reached my past goal of using models other than people.
EBI= I had been able to make my photographs more realistic. To do this I would try and find a singular parked car.
