Distorted Reflection
Antonio Gutierrez uses water to create strange and unusual photographs. The refraction of the water that he uses distorts the model, making the image slightly sinister, and much more dramatic. I will use this to help inspire my work by trying to recreate the 'sinister'look on a rather innocent and kind looking girl.
DESCRIBE THE WORK OF ANTONIO GUTIERREZ - HOW HE CREATES IT AND WHAT THE EFFECT/S ARE. HOW WILL YOU USE THIS TO INSPIRE YOUR OWN WORK?

DESCRIBE THE AIM OF YOUR SHOOT HERE.
The aim here for my shoot was to best capture a variety of images using water. To achieve this I filled up different kind of jars, containers and glasses with water and asked my model [Ella] to go behind these and do different poses/movements. I liked these images because they produced a variety of results. They are inspired by Antonio Gutierrez. For my next shoot, my aim is to achieve more 'mysterious' and 'creepy' images which best match with Gutierrez's ones.

Sebastian Magnani
He was born in 1985, in a small village in Canton Valais, Switzerland. He was surrounded by mountains from the day he was born. He discovered photography whilst training as a media designer in 2006. Magnanis work is based around mirrors an nature. It involves placing a mirror on the ground, usually grassy, and then having trees or another nature image reflecting in it. I really like his images because they are quite unusual and aren't a 'traditional' photography idea. They are very unique and have a depth in them. I have used and will use the artists to inspire my work. I will do this by trying to take pictures inspired by his and will also refer back to his work while taking my pictures.
WHERE SHOULD THE THREE B+W IMAGES BELOW BELONG??
WHERE SHOULD THE THREE B+W IMAGES BELOW BELONG??
This is one of my favourite photos from Sebastian Magnani. I really like it because it has a natural green background with a dark, almost 'empty' image in the middle. The mirror Is reflecting the dark sky so it has a large contrast between the two. The mirror also looks like a form of black hole going down into the unknown world. The mirror also looks like the ocean, with the cloud looking like a wave or swirl of water. This image has lots of depth and different meanings of it, depending on what you see it as.

Reflection in mirrors
My aim for this shoot was to create a piece of work inspired by Magnani. I did this by placing different types of mirrors on the ground underneath a tree or building. This created a reflection onto the mirror which contrasted with the background of the mirror. This outcome relates to Magnanis work as his also has a contrasting focus point which is the mirror and the background/ the ground the mirror has been placed on.

Reflection Of Colour
Tamara Lorenz
Tamara Lorenz is a German photographer. She uses paper and colours to create optical illusion and artwork. Her artwork creates a kind of 3D feeling and they make it seem as if they are coming out the screen. She does this by cutting paper up and rearranging it to look a specific way. I like her images because they add another side to what may be seen as 'boring paper'. They also have a lot pf depth to them. creating a feeling of intrest.

Three strands of reflection
Reflection In water- Chris Carr
Chris carr: 'Interesting subject matter is what I feel makes the best image. I look for interesting subjects in all of the puddles I come across. I do not alter any of my images, so if there is something in the puddle, ie a cigarette butt, trash, a leaf, etc. I leave the object in its place. One of my most popular pictures, Oil slick among the clouds, was shot in a puddle that had oil and gasoline in it. There are times I see a puddle that I think will produce a great picture, but when you include all factors of the photograph it doesn’t come out clear. Like many styles of art, it is often trial and error and a little luck.'

Glass refection-JACK DAVISON
Jack Davison is an 'extremely talented' 24 year old British photographer. He enjoys taking pictures of many different objects and themes but he especially enjoys shadows and reflection ideas.
Reflection in eyes
I chose to do this strand because it is quite unusual and interesting.
Final Pieces
WHICH WILL YOU WORK ON FIRST? YOU ONLY HAVE 1 WEEK LEFT TO COMPLETE ALL 3 STRANDS. WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE YOUR HALLOWEEN SHOOT AS ONE OF YOUR STRANDS?
Lois, for each shooting task, you need to include your aims of the shoot. You must respond to all the red feedback. It's not clear whether the shoot that you did- Reflection in Water by Chris Carr actually used his work as inspiration. All strands must be evaluated. Please upload all of your photos from your favourite strand Reflection in Eyes. All your best images need to be evaluated and you need to describe why you're selecting the images you've chosen as final pieces. Describe your process if you've done any editing on those images, including Photoshop screenshots. Because your final pieces can be further developed, I'd like you to 2 more shoots that relate to Reflection in Eyes.
